This 3,500lb Galvanized Boat Trailer Axle has a V-Bend in the center for clearance with your Boat's Hull and is designed to fit an 80 inch wide I-Beam Trailer. The Hub Face (Track Measurement) on this Torsion Axle Measures 94 inches. It comes equipped with Galvanized 5 Lug Idler Hubs and features a greasable spindle, along with the standard 1.98 inch Accu-Lube Style Dust Cap so you can easily add grease to the Bearings. It also has a standard 4 Hole Brake Flange for installing Trailer Disc Brakes, and measures 88 inches from Brake Flange to Brake Flange, and 82.5 inches to the Outside of the Torsion Mounting Bracket. The Starting Angle of this Torsion Style Boat Trailer Axle is 30 Degrees Down. Torsion Bar Axles are perfect for Salt Water Boat Trailers because they last longer than Leaf Springs which quickly turn to rust.
The hubs are included pre-installed on this Torsion Axle. The Trailer Hubs use a standard 3.5k Capacity Bearing Combination, with a 1 3/8-inch inner bearing (Bearing Number L68149) and a 1 1/16-inch outer bearing (Bearing Number L44649). The Seal Size for this galvanized hub is 1.72 (or 1.619). The Boat Trailer Hub uses the standard size lug nuts for trailer hubs and wheels, ½"x20, and the bolt pattern measures 4.5 inches. The axle/hub does not include brakes, but there is a standard 4 hole brake flange (2 7/8 inches center to center) on the Torsion Arm so you can mount disc brakes to it, or swap out the hub to drum if you prefer.
This pre-installed hub is already greased with a Lithium Based Grease. Additional Lithium Grease may be applied before use.
This Axle Requires A 80-Inch Wide, I-Beam Trailer (Measured Outside to Outside) for proper fitment.

SELECTING THE PROPER TRAILER AXLE
When selecting an axle for your application remember to consider the following important specifications:
LOAD CAPACITY: the load rating of the axle must support the maximum gross vehicle weight rating. For multiple axle trailers divide the GVWR by the number of axles to determine the minimum load capacity of each axle.
TRACK LENGTH: measure your axle track length by determining the distance between the center of one tire to the center of the other tire. A more precise measurement can be made by measuring the distance from one 'HUB FACE' to the other. The hub face is also known as the mounting surface where the wheel studs are located.
SPRING CENTERS: measure the distance from the center of one spring to the center of the other.
NOTE: not required for replacement torsion axles
OVERALL LENGTH: measure the distance from the very end of an axle's spindle to the very end of the opposite spindle.
AXLE STYLE: important when reusing old mounting hardware and also for proper tire clearance. Includes straight axles (round or square), drop axles with offset spindles, and torsion axles. Also consider spindle size when reusing existing hubs or drums.
AXLE CAMBER: Most trailer axles are designed with a bend in the tube that will deflect when the load (weight of the trailer) is applied. This will theoretically bring the trailer wheel camber toward a 0 value that is the best setting for most trailer applications. This will allow the tires to wear evenly and allow the longest tread life. Camber can be affected by damage to the axle. For example, if the axle spindle is bent, this will usually cause a negative camber on that side which will cause excess tread wear on the inside of that tire.
If you have spring axle suspension your trailer will have leaf springs. Your suspension should look similar to this:
If you have torsion axle suspension your trailer will look similar to this:
If you can send me the drawings or specifications of the trailer parts, mechanical parts and wheels, we can give you our price.
